'Youth'- The most buzzing word today!! 'Youth power', 'youths of India', 'youths emerging all over the world'............ these are the buzz going around everywhere and have become a hot topic for serious discussions as well as gossiping. Today, the influence of youths is evident everywhere for sure and no field has been left from its consequences, even the politics.
POLITICS- which was assumed to be one of the professions which was dictated by 'old and experienced' people only has now been seeing a U-Turn. Earlier when a political leader was stated, a picture used to come in mind having an old person of about 50-60 years old wearing white-khaki kurta and a Gandhi cap on his head. But the scenario has changed dramatically over a last few years. Now we see vibrant youths participating in Indian politics and many of them show promising future as well. According to the latest elections which were held in 2009, total number of Member of Parliament (M.P.'s) under 40 years of age has been raised to 71 out of a total of 543 seats. At first these numbers may not seem IMPRESSIVE but looking at the past history of Indian politics, it brings a breeze in the summer. There are many promising youngsters in Indian politics viz. Rahul Gandhi, Milind Deora, Agatha Sangma, Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Scindiya, Naveen Jindal, Rahul Dixit, Dushyant Singh, etc. which keep on telling us "ALL IS WELL".
The question yet to be answered is: "will they be able to clean up the menace of politics??" It looks like a HERCULEAN task. But a very simple answer to it is that we have to start sometime, somewhere and somebody will have to and that is why the debate goes on. It was said by 'Kurt Cobain' that "the duty of youth is to challenge corruption". The older sections who have ruled the politics as their "Hereditary Profession" are of the view that the youths lack the experience required for it. But the point is that what these "talented & experienced" people have done in the politics?? Leaving aside a few exceptions, others have treated it as their "whole sole business" and earned enough for their next 7 Generations.
Hence, it is the need of the hour to transfer the responsibilities on the shoulders of the youths to clean up the mess spread in the political scenario. At first it seems a Mammoth target but just as the Hercules cleansed the "Augean stables",
an unrealistic target, with the force of the river, just like that the youths with all their energy and zeal will clean up the political front. Although it won't happen in a day but as it is said that "
Rome was not built in a day" in the same way it too will take time and patience is required by each one of us. We must congratulate today's youth for sharing up so many responsibilities without complaining about it.
"Passion rebuilds the world for the youth. It makes all things alive and significant " - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hats off to the YOUTHS.......................!!
